Client FAQ
Frequently client questions about working with Silicon Ally
Who are we?
Silicon Ally is a 501(c)(3) public charity based in Colorado, incorporated in 2021. It’s currently run by a pair of ex-Google software engineers who enjoyed working for nonprofits pro-bono when at Google, and decided to try to do it full time.
What can we offer?
We help nonprofits scale up their impact using software. Could software help your organization reach 10x the number of people? Are there time intensive tasks in your operations today that might be automatable? If you think so, we’re here to help! You can read about our approach here.
Do we charge clients?
Yes. We give all new clients 40 hours of our time for free, and bill at $85/hr after that. This rate is 1/2 to 1/4 of the industry average. You can read more about our approach to payment here.
Are you accepting new clients today?
Generally no, as of Spring 2024. You can read more about our current status here.
Do we require a contract to get started?
Nope! Shoot us an email about your organization and we can set up a time to talk.
Can you provide references?
Yes! All of the clients we’ve worked with thus far have been thrilled with our performance. You can check out our (currently small, but growing) list of past projects + client testimonials. Alternatively, we’re happy to provide the contact information of former clients to get more of an idea of what it’s like to work with us.
Anything else?
You can search this site to find almost everything about how we operate, from how we approach cyber security to what we pay our employees. If you can’t find what you’re looking for on the site, please contact us, and we’d be happy to answer your question!
